About the event

[Paris, Galerie Chantal Croussel] Gay Friendly - Lesbian Friendly - Queer Friendly - Exhibition -
Since the 1980s, Wolfgang Tillmans has developed a practice based on the observation and questioning of the realities he encounters. His images are composed as fragments of lived experience, while showing that the reality we perceive is also a reality that we actively construct. Portraits, everyday objects, landscapes, fragments of nature and architecture are all approached with the same attention, without hierarchy, with sustained attention to detail and the conditions of perception that run through the entire exhibition.

At the heart of the exhibition is a reflection on the line, which, in various forms and functions, has played a major role in the artist's practice for several years. Wolfgang Tillmans' relationship to the line obeys two opposing impulses that nevertheless converge in the finished image.
