It is with great pleasure that we announce the Workshop "Sewing: Kinky Accessories and Clothing" with AyatheFox, in Porto, on November 1st, at 10 AM.
The workshop is ideal for the curious, beginners, or couples who want to explore their creativity in BDSM.
Workshop Synopsis
Participants will build an accessory (e.g., a simple restraint bracelet/anklet with straps, or a sensory deprivation blindfold) and have a guide for adapting patterns for clothing, so that the skills are transferable beyond the single project.
In this workshop, we will cover:
– DIY/budgeting concepts in sewing, machine and needle safety, evaluation of a domestic sewing station, basic fabric selection.
– Theory & Technique: Fabric weight/stretch and distinction between structural and comfort fabrics, interfacings and reinforcement for load-bearing seams, fastening systems (buckles, laces, elastic, velcro), seam finishing in contact with the skin
– Guided Construction: Pattern marking and cutting, reinforced seam construction, eyelet and/or elastic placement, final fitting adjustments
Adapt the same techniques to complete garments and structural components (e.g., reinforced straitjackets designed to withstand restraint tension, or padding a spanking bench).
