Webinar Wednesday: Accessing capital for start-ups and early-stage businesses

This session will explore how early-stage 2SLGBTQI+ businesses can access capital effectively and successfully. Presented by August Haig (he/him, TD Bank) and Daniella Molina (she/her, Didaktos), the first part of the session aims to deliver a high-level, strategic overview of funding pathways available to early-stage businesses. The goal is to provide participants with an understanding of what funding and loan options are available and best suited for start-up/early-stage businesses from the perspective of a bank.
The second part of the session, led by Molina and designed to complement TD’s institutional overview, will provide an entrepreneur-centric look at navigating the Canadian funding continuum—from bootstrapping and grants to micro-loans and CSBFP debt. Founders will learn how to evaluate timing, understand the 5 Cs of credit from an applicant’s perspective, and identify the financing pathway that best accelerates their business stage.
