Boardwalk Inn

The hotel is awesome! The staff? Unfriendly with chip on the shoulder attitudes. Lackluster management of, and cleanup in the pool area. Pool opens at dawn. We went down at 8 AM, the pool was locked, and there were no towels. Once unlocked, the pool area was completely dirty from the night before. A girl came and swept, but left dirty towels from the previous day along with food wrappers and assorted trash on the ground and deck chairs. The Boardwalk is a great property. Our previous visits have always been pleasant with attentive staff and professional attitudes. Don’t let charlatans manage your top of the line business! Get good folks without the attitude baggage. Oh, almost forgot. There was a brief power outage. We returned to the hotel to find the emergency lights illuminated. Upon entering the lobby, three staff were at the desk loudly chatting with a guest. I asked one of the staff if the door keys still worked and was ignored. Asked again. Still ignored. Raised my voice to a near shout, and finally got the attention of staff. Why didn’t they greet us with the information we needed? Why completely blow off customers until they have to shout to be heard? We’re coming back because it’s a special place for us. Get the DEI hires a new occupation.

Disappointing to find out the pool is closed for construction. Sure isn’t mentioned when you book …

It’s a really nice hotel. The front desk staff is very friendly. I’d stay again. Very convenient to restaurant

Update: after talking with staff and after I left this review, the Manager reached out to me and made this right. He explained that the train is run by another company and they have talked to them about their horn. Hopefully it will be fixed and we will try the again. For $316 a night, it is not worth it. I have stayed all over the world and this will be a place I do not come back to at all. The hotel is older and needs updating. The sink did not drain, the AC must be run by the hotel as it didn’t stay cool, the location of the hotel is hard to get into as there is minimal signs, and do not bring a truck. But worst of all was the train tooting its horn repeatedly all times of the day and night. We would get to sleep and then it would start blasting the horn 5 and 6 times at midnight or 8 in the morning.

This place was great. You're right in the middle of the boardwalk and all the weekend activities.

Came in April to avoid the crowds. No crowds, but all of the shops were closed. It's a nice place to use as a base for local activities.
