About this place The Honey Paw

The Honey Paw is a restaurant at 78 Middle Street in Portland, Maine's Old Port. It comes from the same team as the oyster bar Eventide next door, and serves Asian-influenced noodles, dumplings and small plates at counters and communal tables. It is a mainstream restaurant listed here as gay-friendly, not a gay venue. Prices are moderate, and Google reviewers rate it 4.6 from about 1,600 reviews. It does not take many reservations, so expect a wait at peak dinner hours in summer. Portland has a small LGBTQ+ scene, and Blackstones, the city's long-running gay bar, is a short walk away on Pine Street.

Hands down the best Asian restaurant in the north east! Exceptional food & drinks!! Please do take recommendations from Laure (sorry if I butchered the spelling) from the bar! She made some insane cocktails and mocktails which some very creative mixes No matter what happens DO not skip the desserts! They are delicious

ice cream and pad kee mao were divine; unfortunately the mapo tofu could use some work. also don't ask about substitutions if you don't want attitude

Got takeout. Delicious. The pad mee korat is gentle, warm spice. Super mild. I am amused that they had to label this as spicy 😅

Skip Eventide and go to Honey Paw. You won’t regret it. We got the lobster roll, the Khao Soi (ramen type dish) and the Napa cabbage salad and each thing was absolutely delicious. Best lobster roll I had in Maine by far. And the Khao Soi was so good. Also the food all came out super quickly. And the passion fruit cocktail was great. To top it off, we did the honey ice cream with chocolate was fantastic. Everything was great and the staff was super nice. Happy we ended up here.
