Great place. You can easily while away the hours here. During our stay in Cape Town as part of a South Africa group tour, we came here several times after the sightseeing program when we had free time. It's the best thing you can do as a tourist instead of just sitting around at the hotel. It's safe, and there are plenty of shops, restaurants, and so on.

While the exterior of the hotel was nice, we did not have a good experience here. It takes forever to get hot water on the 3rd floor (at least 10 minutes of running the shower). The phone system was misprogrammed which we found while trying to call our daughter. Our safe and deadlock did not work. There was a loose rope outside our windows which created a significant banging noise on a windy day. Then, to add insult to injury I was double-charged for a meal. After initially trying to pay on a credit card, after minutes of their machine saying "processing ", I charged the meal to our room. I then received a notification from my credit card company stating the charge had gone through. After bringing this up at the front desk, including sending them the screenshot of the notification from my credit card company, they still charged my account again. Breakfasts were very nice. That dinner wasn't particularly good for any of us. The location was fine with easy access to lots of other restaurants and shops. The hotel needs to improve on their maintenance rather than wasting so many resources on multiple unwanted doormen.
