Sips & Sunshine | Sunday Gals & Gays Picnic – Mel
About the event
Sunshine, snacks, and a whole lot of GALS & GAYS! ☀️🧺🌈
The crossover episode you’ve all been waiting for is BACK!
We’re getting the Gay Social Club gays and the Actually Social Gals Club girlies together again for a fabulous Sunday picnic in the park, because honestly, what better excuse to get the whole gang together than a sunny afternoon, a picnic rug, and an unreasonable amount of snacks?
If you’ve been to one of our Gals & Gays collabs before, you’ll know the drill. Two fabulous communities, one big social afternoon, and plenty of opportunities to make some new mates.
And if this is your first one? Babe, you’re in for a treat.
We’re taking over a little patch of Fawkner Park for a relaxed Sunday arvo filled with good company, fresh air, delicious picnic bits, and the kind of conversations that somehow turn into planning your next three social outings together.
The assignment? BYO picnic rug, your favourite snacks, something to sip, and your fabulous self.
Think cheese boards, strawberries, chips and dips, homemade goodies, supermarket snack hauls, or whatever your heart desires. We’re not judging your culinary abilities here, divas. If your contribution is a packet of Tim Tams and a winning personality, we respect it.
Bring your own picnic spread to enjoy, and if you feel like sharing a few treats with your new mates, even better! Just remember to be mindful of food allergies and dietary requirements.
There are no formal activities, no awkward icebreakers, and absolutely no pressure to be the loudest person on the picnic rug. This one’s all about slowing down, enjoying the sunshine, and spending some quality time with good people.
Coming solo? PERFECT! Most of our members do, and that’s exactly why we love these events. Adeline will be there from 1pm to welcome everyone, make introductions, and help the gays and gals mingle. Whether you’re a familiar face or brand new to the club, we’ll make sure you’ve got somewhere to settle in.
And because we’re bringing two communities together, this is a lovely chance to meet people you might not normally cross paths with at your usual events. New friendships, fresh faces, and potentially a whole new group chat by Monday morning.
Good snacks. Great company. Two clubs. One very fabulous Sunday.
Come solo. Come hungry. Come ready to soak up a little sunshine with the gals and gays. 💗

🧺 A LITTLE PICNIC HOUSEKEEPING
This is a relaxed BYO picnic, so please bring your own food, drinks, and anything else you’ll need to enjoy the afternoon. You’re welcome to share food with other members if you choose, but sharing is entirely optional.
Food sharing is at your own discretion and risk. All attendees are responsible for the food they bring, including safe preparation, storage, handling, and transportation. Please be particularly mindful of perishable foods sitting outdoors in warm weather.
If you choose to offer food to others, please be transparent about ingredients and any known allergens. If you’re accepting food from another attendee, it’s your responsibility to check ingredients, consider your own dietary requirements and allergies, and decide whether it’s suitable for you to consume.
Melbourne Gay Social Club and Actually Social do not prepare, inspect, supervise, or guarantee the safety of food brought to or shared at this event, and cannot verify ingredients, allergen information, or food handling practices.
Please also bring plenty of water, dress for the weather, and be sun-smart. As we’re gathering in a public park, remember to respect other park users and take any rubbish home or dispose of it appropriately.
