What reviewers say

Visitors praise the venue for its attractive, young, and muscular clientele, describing it as a vibrant place for encounters. However, many complain about discriminatory entry policies, with a strong preference for younger, fit, and Japanese-speaking patrons, leaving foreigners and older individuals feeling ignored or unwelcome. Some also note the misleading name as it's not a traditional sauna and mention cash-only payment and a single bathroom causing queues.

About this place Men's Ajito (メンズ・アジト)

Men's Ajito (メンズ・アジト) is a gay men's mixroom hattenba on the second floor of 1-6-3 Nakazaki, in the quiet Nakazaki-cho area just east of Umeda and north of Doyama. It is a cruising space with box rooms over several floors, not a sauna, so there are showers but no baths. Japanese listings in 2026 give hours of about 15:00 to 23:00, entry of ¥1,500 (¥1,200 for students), an age range of roughly 19 to 40, and a passport or ID check at the door. Google reviews are few and mixed. Bring cash and expect the door to be strict.

It’s not a sauna but it says so in the name. Misleading isn’t? My advise, if you are not Asian, don’t go there. Nobody will look at you, talk to you or do anything with you. If you still wanna waste your time, it’s 1500yen and cash only.

Age limit: 40, underwear required. Anytime entry is 1,500 yen, and no reservations are allowed. There's only one bathroom, so there's often a line. Monday: 3:00 PM - 10:00 PM Tuesday: 3:00 PM - 10:00 PM Wednesday: 3:00 PM - 10:00 PM Thursday: 3:00 PM - 10:00 PM Friday: 3:00 PM - 10:00 PM Saturday: 3:00 PM - 10:00 PM Sunday: 3:00 PM - 10:00 PM

I highly recommend going if you're in good shape and know a little Japanese, because the staff are mostly young and muscular. If you're not in good shape or young enough (at least look under 35, but you might not even get in 🤣), you might not have a good time because nobody pays attention to you. It's crowded even on weekdays, so you don't necessarily have to go on weekends; it's packed after work.

This is the first time I've ever been asked to show my ID at a gay bar. I'm appalled.

For Foreigners: A very interesting experience. It’s like the touch and go of Grindr, but in person! There are 3 floors of rooms (twin sized mats) where you can wait for others to check you out, or you can cruise the rooms to find someone you might be interested in. I didn’t have any success, it seemed the majority of the men (most all were younger) were not interested in a white foreigner. There is only nonverbal communication and touching/groping to indicate interest in a person. Ex: you try to interact with someone out who is “sleeping” and they make an X with their arms. The format of only possibly finding a match seems rather unproductive and time consuming in person. I did not recommend to any foreigners in general, using Grindr or a different venue would be best.
