Basketball Trafficking – Book Talk

The inaugural Tara Coyt Publishing Fund’s Grant Awardee Book Talk will feature author Javier Wallace and NBA All-Star Joe Barry Carroll, discussing “Basketball Trafficking” on Sept 17, 2026.
Dr. Wallace pulls back the curtain on the exploitation of young Black international athletes within the F-1 student visa pipeline and the NCAA. His book “Basketball Trafficking” (Duke University Press) was awarded a 2025 Tara Coyt Publishing Fund publishing subvention grant.
Don’t miss this critical conversation demanding we see young Black athletes not just as bodies for entertainment, but as whole human beings.
