What reviewers say

Visitors praise Plage du Layet for its beautiful sand, clear turquoise water, and idyllic landscape. However, it is frequently described as a naturist beach, which some reviewers note makes it less suitable for children, and it can become very crowded and have full parking in July and August.

About this place Plage du Layet

Plage du Layet is a well-known naturist cove situated near Cavaliere on the beautiful Cote d'Azur, often frequented by the LGBTQ+ community. While technically located closer to Le Lavandou, this charming beach is a popular destination for queer travellers visiting the Antibes region and beyond, offering a welcoming space for sunbathing and relaxation. As a designated gay nudist beach, visitors can expect a relaxed and inclusive atmosphere. It's a place where the queer crowd can feel comfortable and free to enjoy the Mediterranean sunshine. While specific events aren't listed, beaches of this nature often foster a sense of community, and it's common to find a friendly vibe among fellow beachgoers. The natural beauty of the area, with its clear waters and coastal scenery, provides a picturesque backdrop for a day of unwinding. Remember that it is a naturist beach, so expect to see people sunbathing in the nude. Located approximately 74km from Antibes, Plage du Layet is accessible for those willing to take a scenic drive along the coast. It's advisable to check local transport options or consider driving. Pack essentials like sunscreen, water, and towels for your visit. This spot offers a tranquil retreat for LGBTQ+ travellers seeking a peaceful and affirming beach experience on the French Riviera.

A magnificent little beach with fine sand and turquoise water in the Calanque du Layet in Le Lavandou. The Pointe du Layet, a protected marine area, is a marvel to visit. It's an easy 30-minute walk, accessible via a cycle path on the old railway line from Le Lavandou. A small tourist train also provides access to the beaches from Le Lavandou. Unmissable!

A naturist and family-friendly beach with crystal-clear waters. Very pleasant out of season but crowded in July and August.

Beautiful beach 🏖️, easily accessible. And the beach bar next door is pleasant.
