Role-Playing or Role-Being: Identity & Mental Health
About the event
For some people role-playing is a chance for non-serious fun and delight, while for others what looks like role-playing is anything but. For many on diverse mental health journeys, these practices can become supportive tools: a depressed mind trying on confidence, a dissociative system choosing who fronts in a negotiated space, or an anxious heart finding calm in clear roles and protective structure.
What we will explore:
How roles and personas can help us thrive in kink and play contexts
The differences between playing a part and revealing a piece of ourselves
How to enter and exit headspaces with intention
Strategies for when scenes drift sideways
Approaches to aftercare, grounding, and connection so that these journeys are held with care
