Queer Poetry Slam

An event by Wohnzimmerslam Dortmund.Hello art enthusiasts, poetry slam fans, and queers!Queerslam is back! Six poets compete for the audience's favor. They must adhere to three rules: they may only perform self-written texts, use no props, and not be on stage for longer than what feels like six minutes. The texts are often as diverse as the performers themselves: funny, loud, political, touching, thoughtful, you name it.On this evening, exclusively queer artists will be on stage to make spoken word spaces more colorful and to explicitly give a voice to people who are part of the LGBTQIA+ community.There will be a sassy moderation and a featured artist to prepare the audience for the word sport.We strive to make our events as safe as possible so that everyone feels comfortable and can participate in great art. All forms of discrimination have no place here. To live up to this claim, we have an awareness person on site who is available during the event and ready for questions, criticism, and emotional support. We want to contribute above all to creating queer safer spaces where all participants can enjoy culture without having to pretend. So feel free to come as you are: colorful, loud, covered, alone or in groups: however you feel comfortable.
