Queer Life Stories — A Journey Through the Last 60 Years of LGBTQ+ History
About the event
The Forum Demokratie Düsseldorf, in cooperation with Queere Geschichtet(n) Düsseldorf e.V. and Aidshilfe Düsseldorf e.V., invites you on a journey through the last 60 years of LGBTQ+ history on November 15th. Participation is free. This event is for everyone who identifies with the LGBTQ+ community: Become part of our journey through the last 60 years of LGBTQ+ history and bring your own. As a storyteller, you will bring chosen stations of this journey to life and share your personal experiences. We are interested in reports from historical witnesses as well as young and current perspectives and experiences. What story from your life do you want to tell? We can well imagine the following topics: § 175 StGB, women's rights, relationship models, love, sexuality, family of origin, rainbow families, friendships, housing, work, engagement and networks, patriarchy, gender roles, transitions, celebrations, coming out, intersectionality. From our own experiences and many conversations with different people from the LGBTQ+ world, we know that there is little contact and connection between the individual groups of the LGBTQ+ community. We want to change that and create a trusting space with this event where people from all parts of the LGBTQ+ spectrum can meet – across generations, identities, and life paths.
