Reading of Martin Krpan with Tone Kralj's watercolors

To accompany the exhibition Tone Kralj. Visionary Mystic, we invite you to the National Gallery for a special interpretation of Levstik's narrative Martin Krpan. With the watercolors with which Tone Kralj depicted the famous Slovenian hero, actor Jernej Kuntner will bring one of the most important works of Slovenian literature to life through interpretive reading.
Kralj's illustrations reveal the artist's exceptional ear for narrative, characters, and dramatic scenes, while also offering a new perspective on the story of the brave and unyielding Krpan.
The event will take place in the Ceremonial Hall of the National Gallery (entrance Cankarjeva 20) with a projection of artworks.
The event is organized in cooperation with the Ljubljana Puppet Theatre.
Admission is free. Visitors of all ages are welcome!
