DOKUDOC MASTERCLASS: FROM SHORT FILM TO FIUME O MORTE!

"Fiume o morte!" is the film that won the Tiger Award in Rotterdam, the European Film Award for Best Documentary Film, and the FIPRESCI Award for Best World Documentary Film of the past year. The film was also selected for the DOKUDOC Selected 2025 program of our festival.
In the lecture, the director and screenwriter of the film, IGOR BEZINOVIĆ, will talk about how his amateur and short films shaped his film aesthetic and why the success of "Fiume o morte!" is inextricably linked to amateur film practices.

About the lecturer
IGOR BEZINOVIĆ is a filmmaker born in Rijeka, which is part of Croatia today, but at the time belonged to the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia, previously partly the Kingdom of Italy and partly the Kingdom of Yugoslavia, before that the Free State of Fiume, before that the Italian Regency of Carnaro, before that the Austro-Hungarian Empire...
His films include Blockade (Oktavijan Award for Best Croatian Documentary 2012), Veruda (Oktavijan Award for Best Croatian Documentary 2015), and A Short Trip (Golden Arena for Best Croatian Feature Film 2017), along with numerous short films of all shapes and lengths.
His work has been presented internationally at IFFR, DOK Leipzig, Ji.
