Project Gnoomes was founded in Russia about ten years ago by Saša and Maša Pjankov. After moving to Slovenia, drummer Martin Kramberger from the band Moving as a Giant regularly joins them in their live lineup. The band's unique musical style, so-called stargaze, blends elements of krautrock, shoegaze, techno, and psychedelic pop. With the upcoming album Losey, they are developing this in slightly different directions. While their previous albums still looked towards shoegaze horizons, the new material is much more direct and raw, resorting to acid EBM rhythms and Dadaist pop dreaminess inspired by the melody and songwriting of Paul McCartney. As they themselves say, it's a mix of rave therapy, pop as resistance, and ADHD production techniques.
