Looking for a Husband

The comedy Looking for a Husband with a heart of culture is an entertaining story about a widow who decides to find the perfect husband – with ideal, of course impossible criteria – with the help of tarot and a newspaper ad. Meanwhile, her lonely neighbor, who has long been in love with her, hatches a plan: a childhood friend will pose as a series of eccentric suitors so that he himself appears to be the best choice in comparison. Miro Gavran's skillfully interwoven character and situational comedy offers plenty of comic twists, warmth, and opportunities for stage acting of full-blooded characters. The play humorously reveals human desires, imagination, and small weaknesses – with special charm and a gentle look at everyday dreams.
