A sound dialogue without borders. A fresh acoustic imprint of the Mediterranean and the Balkans.
In a time of increasing global polarization, Dialektika is an answer that comes through music. The international quartet transforms cultural differences into a source of creativity, connecting the musical traditions of the Balkans, the Mediterranean, North Africa, and the wider Roma world.
Ancient microtonal scales, traditional melodies, complex Balkan rhythms, and the untamed pulse of Roma musical expression merge into a vibrant, contemporary sound. Dialektika evades simple labels like jazz or world music, forging its own musical language instead.
Ancient vocal melodies meet jazz and hip-hop here, North African polyrhythms meet irregular Balkan rhythms, and carefully constructed melodic structures open up into powerful spaces of improvisation.
The result is music that sounds both ancient and radically contemporary – a sonic crossroads where different cultures not only coexist but transform each other.

Bajsa Arifovska (North Macedonia) – kaval, clarinet, bagpipes, tambura
A leading figure in Balkan instrumental music, an exceptional Roma artist, composer, and multi-instrumentalist. She is a long-time member of the National Ensemble Tanec and a professor of traditional instruments.
