▶️Synopsis:
In 1991, Josip Reihl Kir, the head of the Osijek police administration, a man dedicated to negotiations and efforts to prevent war, was murdered on the outskirts of Tenja. Peacemaker tells the story of the last months of his life, in the period before the outbreak of the bloody Croatian-Serbian war, which Kir tried with all his might to prevent. The story is presented through the testimonies of a few eyewitnesses and archival material from that time.
Even more than 30 years later, many aspects of this assassination remain unexplained, and its potential perpetrators are still unknown.
Director Ivan Ramljak is one of the most important Croatian documentarians, known for his unique approach to historical themes.
