🔹The 15th festival edition will be marked by the screening of the documentary film WHEN I GET OUT (2025, Slovenia) directed by Metod Pevec.🔹
▶️Synopsis:
In Slovenia's central prison in Dob, director Metod Pevec and psychiatrist Vladimir Milošević enter a closed world with a camera and a shared belief that stories live even behind prison walls. Over a year and a half, a group of men convicted of serious crimes participates in a process that takes them back to childhood memories, family stories, and pivotal wounds, while also moving forward – towards the uncertain possibility of life after serving their prison sentence. WHEN I GET OUT does not seek simple explanations or easy moral conclusions. Instead, it observes how complex criminal identity can be, how deeply it is marked by family, violence, shame, and silence, and how the need for creativity, closeness, and meaning can unexpectedly emerge at the very bottom. This is not a prison film in the usual sense. It is a film about people in extreme life circumstances – and about the fragile possibility of change.
