Invitation to a journey with Maja Slovenc

My life is a journey along asphalt, gravel, and side roads. There were the most of the ones with potholes. And since life doesn't choose, we have to choose ourselves. To be firmly determined and unwavering in this. When you have less than half the candies left in the bag of life, you have to savor each of the remaining ones slowly.
Maja Slovenc's debut autobiographical work, "Suhi zid" (Dry Wall), is not just another "women's book" or a tearful story about overcoming cancer, but through a blend of present and past, it tells of an interesting life journey and describes the author's positive fight against a treacherous illness. It presents to the reader in various ways how to cope with personal problems while living life to the fullest, even when it's difficult.
The common thread of the novel is the days after her second cancer surgery during COVID, which she spent in the hospital shortening the time with memories of interesting stories from her life, travels, events, and encounters with interesting people. Although the book sometimes cuts to the heart, the author maintains a positive spirit throughout and takes the reader on her life journey.
This is her love story with life.
