When a rescue pup's vessel is caught in a mysterious storm, they are unintentionally washed ashore on an unknown tropical island full of dinosaurs. They meet a young pup named Rex, who has been stranded on the island for years and has become an expert on all things dinosaur. When the pups' main rival, Mayor Humdinger, begins carelessly mining the island for its natural resources, he unintentionally triggers the eruption of a huge dormant volcano. The rescue pups find themselves in a series of dinosaur-sized rescue missions, bigger than anything they've ever done before, as they must stop Humdinger before all life on the island goes extinct.
