▶️Synopsis:
Young, idealistic Valentin documents his two-year journey eastward from Austria – hitchhiking, sleeping on strangers' couches, and under the open sky. Deep in the Iranian mountains, he unexpectedly encounters one of the last nomadic families. Initially, communication is only possible through gestures. Despite the language barrier, a deep bond develops. Through their shared migration, Valentin gains insight into a disappearing world, caught between centuries-old tradition, the allure of the modern world, and an oppressive regime. Visa restrictions force Valentin to leave, but his fascination with the nomadic family never leaves him. Determined to find the family again, he returns three months later. This time, he is joined by two Iranian friends, and for the first time, a real conversation becomes possible. The long-awaited dialogue unfolds in ways he never expected.
