Election Shock in Saxony-Anhalt – What Happens Next?

43.8 percent and 39 seats in the state parliament of Saxony-Anhalt – as many seats and almost as large a voter share as the CDU, SPD, Left Party, and Greens combined. The AfD narrowly missed an absolute majority in this East German state. The election result in Saxony-Anhalt represents a dam break in German history. For the first time since World War II, a far-right party is on the verge of taking government in a German state.
We will discuss how we can precisely combat neo-fascism and what we must learn from the elections in Saxony-Anhalt together with the internationally renowned political writer Robert Misik.
