Cronin Creek hike and swim
About the event
We’re wrapping up another fantastic year of Tom Social hiking adventures with a beautiful bushwalk, spectacular mountain scenery and a refreshing swim at one of South East Queensland’s hidden waterfalls!
For our final hike of the year, we’re heading to Mount Barney National Park to explore the picturesque Cronan Creek Falls Track. This 13km return adventure takes us through open countryside, lush rainforest and scenic creek crossings before reaching a secluded waterfall and natural swimming hole.
The Hike
Starting from Yellow Pinch car park, we’ll follow a scenic trail through the foothills of Mount Barney, taking in beautiful views of the surrounding mountains and countryside.
The walk winds through a mixture of open grassy landscapes and shaded rainforest, with several creek crossings and gentle climbs along the way. There are a few hills to get the heart pumping, but the real reward comes towards the end of the trail.
Hidden just off the main track, Cronan Creek Falls is a beautiful little oasis surrounded by towering rock formations and lush greenery. We’ll stop here for a well-earned break, enjoy some lunch and, for those feeling adventurous, take a refreshing dip in the natural swimming hole.
After soaking up the scenery, we’ll make our way back along the trail, bringing our final hiking adventure of the year to a close.
