Get ready for Black-O-Ween, a Halloween celebration of Black creativity, community, and culture! On Saturday, 31 October 2026, ADOE (Afrikanische Diaspora Österreich) and Villa Vida Café invite Black people and members of the African diaspora to an evening of horror, performances, music, costumes, and delicious treats.

Doors open at 19:00 (7 PM). Expect a night full of spooky surprises, fabulous performances, and unforgettable Halloween energy!

Please note that this event is exclusively for people who identify as Black and/or as members of the African diaspora.

Horror Cinema: Blacula (1972)

We will kick off the evening with a screening of Blacula (1972), the iconic Black horror film that brought a new perspective to the vampire genre.

Combining Gothic horror with 1970s Black cinema, Blacula has become a cult classic. So, settle in and prepare for a wonderfully spooky start to the evening!

Burlesque Performance by Scottie

Next, prepare for a freaky, fabulous burlesque performance by Scottie (@scottie.laroc)!

Killer DJ Set by Kaddy

After the film and live performance, the celebration continues with a DJ set by Kaddy (@kidkaddy).

Halloween Costume Contest – Dress to Impress!

What’s Halloween without a costume contest?

Black-O-Ween invites guests to get creative, embrace their spooky side, and show off their most imaginative Halloween looks.

There will be two costume categories:

Best Solo Costume

Best Duo or Group Costume

Whether your costume is terrifying, glamorous, hilarious, or completely unexpected, we want to see your creativity!

Delicious Treats and Fabulous Hosting

In addition to the entertainment, guests can look forward to delicious treats prepared by @cafe_cyde.

The evening will be hosted by Coco (@miss__josephine_), who will guide us through the festivities and keep the Halloween spirit alive.

With horror, burlesque, music, costumes, and treats, Black-O-Ween promises a night to remember.
