About the event

Today is Indigenous People's Day, a day to recognize the history and uplift the voices and experiences of indigenous people.

Wondering how you can celebrate respectfully? Here are a few ideas:
- Learn whose land you live or work on. Check out the website Native-Land.ca to research your location.
- Attend a local event. Learn about or celebrate native art, film, music, or storytelling. We see an event is happening at goodyeararts with wethinkdreams. Know of more events happening soon? Comment below to share with others!
- Check out online events and collections through the National Museum of the American Indian (NMAI).
- Check out a book, podcast, or documentary, and gain more understanding of Indigenous histories.
- Reading with kids? Check out the American Indian Library Association's Youth Literature Award for award winning books for youth and young adults.
- Support Indigenous-owned business, Indigenous-led organizations, and organizations working in native communities.
- Keep learning and uplifting indigenous voices - all year long. ♥️
