Buffalo Theater: Nuts

The Broadway hit; Nuts has been called the best courtroom drama since
Witness for the Prosecution and The Caine Mutiny Court Martial. Set in
a courtroom in ew York’s Bellevue Hospital, the story follows a
high-priced call girl incarcerated on a charge for killing a violent client.
The state, represented by an aggressive prosecutor and a court appointed psychiatrist, say Claudia Faith Draper is unfit to stand trial. As testimony from experts, physicians and her parents unfold we see her childhood and adult life dissected to prove she must be institutionalized. She, with the help of her attorney, take on the psychological battle of her life to prove her own sanity. The play is based on a real-life case that happened in the 1970’s. It was later adapted into a very successful film version that starred Barbara Streisand and Richard Dreyfuss.
This Desiderio production is a must see for courtroom drama lovers
