About the event

Queer book club for LGBTQIA+ members, with first love on the reading list.
Our November read is Swimming in the Dark by Tomasz Jedrowski, a queer love story set in 1980s Poland. We’ll chat about its romance, political tensions and complicated choices, with room to hear what landed differently for other readers. Fictional men making difficult decisions – plenty for the table to discuss.
You don’t need to finish the book to take a seat. Halfway through or only just started, you’re welcome to share your thoughts without delivering an English essay. Spoilers will be part of the conversation, though!
Most members come solo, so there’s no need to arrive knowing anyone. First-timers are welcome to listen while they settle in or jump into the book chat. There’s time for a catch-up between the literary opinions, too.
Come solo. Come curious. Come exactly as you are.
