Carmén Lounge Bar

Carmén is an LGBTQ+ lounge bar and cultural space on Rua Carlos Gomes in Salvador's Centro, part of the historic downtown gay strip near Campo Grande. It programmes drag shows, DJ sets and themed queer nights, drawing a mixed community crowd of locals and visitors. Alongside neighbouring Bar Âncora do Marujo, it keeps the old central gayborhood alive after the scene's centre of gravity shifted toward Rio Vermelho.
