Gay Bowl XXVII
About This Event
Gay Bowl is the annual championship of the National Gay Flag Football League (NGFFL), a nonprofit founded in 2002 whose member leagues field more than 200 teams across the US and Canada. A different member league hosts each year. It is a four-day flag football tournament, and the championship games are played on the Sunday. Games are free to watch.
The first Gay Bowl was played in 2002 at Hollywood High School in Los Angeles. Recent hosts were Seattle in 2023, Austin in 2024 and San Diego in 2025. Gay Bowl XXVI ran from 8 to 11 October 2026 at the National Sports Center in Blaine, outside Minneapolis. MPR News reported that more than 2,250 athletes were expected.
This page covers Gay Bowl XXVII, the 2027 edition. We have it listed under Buffalo, but we couldn't confirm that with the NGFFL. What we could confirm is that the Buffalo Bills sponsored the launch of a new NGFFL league in Buffalo. When we checked in October 2026, the NGFFL hadn't published a 2027 host city or dates, so treat both as unconfirmed until the league announces them.
