Reading Came First’ Book Club: Parable of the Sower by Octavia E. Butler

Program Overview
“Reading Came First” is a unique book club program launched by the RAPBRARY in partnership with The Closet Unlocked and Nobody’s Darling Bar. This program aims to celebrate and amplify literature by Black and Brown LGBTQIA+ authors globally. It offers a platform for participants to engage in meaningful dialogue, connect with the community, and explore the richness of Black and Brown LGBTQIA+ experiences. The book club will meet monthly, with book selections rotating every other month to allow ample time for reading, reflection, and discussion.

Our next meeting will take place on Thursday, October 1st, 2026 at 6:30PM, with a special discussion around our selected text and curated cocktails.
