Short Evening Walk with Queer Community - New Jersey

Join TVOP Volunteer Brenna for a short evening week day walk in Oakhurst, New Jersey. We will walk between 1-2 miles along a flat, dirt trail in a county park as the day winds down and sun begins to set. We may spot birds, insects, deer, and the occasional turtle, and take time to ID plants and trees together. This walk is meant to be done at a slow pace to enjoy spending time with local queer community in nature, and it will last approximately one hour. This event is rain or shine!This walk is the first of three consecutive evening walks - same park, same time, three Wednesdays in a row! We ask folks under the age of 18 to please register themselves and an adult to accompany them.
GENERAL INFO Location: Oakhurst , NJ (Lenni-Lenape lands) Parking: Small dirt parking lot available that can accommodate 8-10 cars. Hike: 1 - 2 miles, 50 ft elevation gain Pets: Furry friends who are not service animals are welcome, but they need to be on leash and friendly with other pets they may come across. Meet: September 23, 2026 Cost: This event is completely free to access!  We welcome donations of any amount, which help us continue to provide these programs.  We appreciate your support and your contribution! Bring: Make sure to bring water and wear comfortable walking shoes!
COVID SAFETY Masks are not required during this event, however they are welcomed if wearing one allows you to better engage with the group. PLEASE be mindful of your own and group safety. If you or anyone in your household are not feeling well, do not participate in a hike.
