The Knotted Apron is a small mainstream restaurant at 496 Woodford St in Portland, Maine, in the Woodfords Corner area north of the peninsula. It is listed as gay-friendly, not a gay venue. It rates 4.9 on Google from about 230 reviews and is in the upper-middle price band. We don't have a menu or opening hours on file, and a small kitchen like this may keep limited days. Check its current hours and whether it takes reservations before going. Downtown and the Old Port, where most of Portland's bars are, are a short drive away.

This place is a gem. We had a great dinner there. They have a small menu and it seems everything is delicious.

Food was meh..nothing special…but perhaps my taste buds are spoiled from France. Excellent service, however.

Exceptional experience overall. This is our second time dining at The Knotted Apron, and it is our favorite neighborhood restaurant in Portland. Everything is top notch ♥️

Yes! Come here, for locally owned, fresh ingredients, wonderful energy and service and most importantly DELICIOUS food! Yummmm. Halibut, Lamb, Tartar, vino, cocktails and more. We both literally licked our plates clean. BRAVO TEAM KNOTTED APRON !!

I had the most incredible solo dinner at Knotted Apron. I was a walk-in and they were able to sit me at the bar, which happens to be a front row seat to Chef Ryan, and his amazing team of chefs. I was blown away. Drank (more than) a few local brews and feasted on housemaid bread and butter, an amazing salad (I NEVER ORDER A SALAD) with shallot vinaigrette, and ordered steak frites for a main. In an age where I never get to treat myself to a dinner, alone in Portland- I have to say this is the best dining experience I’ve had in the last few years. Bits (sp?) was my server, and made me feel like I was a VIP the entire time. Chef Ryan and his chefs had an amazing energy to watch from my seat. The steak was perfectly cooked, as were the fries. And instead of having one of their amazing desserts- I just enjoyed another beer and continued to watch the show. I found myself struggling to take a bite, and potentially miss anything that was happening in front me. Thank you to Ryan, Kate, Bits, and the entire team down to the dishwasher. You made my night- and I can’t wait to return on my next visit.

We decided to try this restaurant because it was so highly rated and it did not disappoint! The cocktails were creative and delicious. The food was inspired, well-seasoned, and cooked to perfection. The menu is small but we tried a lot of the items and everything was fantastic!

Food was impeccably delicious, if you know you know this little place has some of the best food Portland has to offer!
