About this place Elvago Lounge

Elvago Lounge (formerly known as Club L.A.) is a long-running nightclub in Nairobi's central business district, off Tom Mboya Street. Within the city's discreet queer network it has a reputation as one of the more relaxed and welcoming places to go out, and LGBTQ+ travellers repeatedly cite it as the most reliably gay-friendly club in central Nairobi. It is a mainstream venue rather than a dedicated gay bar, and nothing about it is advertised as queer. Expect an energetic, mixed late-night crowd and the usual Nairobi club soundtrack of Afrobeat, dancehall and amapiano. As everywhere in Kenya, where same-sex activity is criminalised, keep any affection entirely private and simply blend into the crowd.
