Join us at the Victorian Pride Centre for the second session of Industry Insights, a series bringing together professionals, community leaders and organisations to explore important issues, share experiences and build meaningful connections.
The Modern Queer Experience in Therapy will bring together a panel of professionals to explore the evolving mental health landscape for LGBTQIA+ communities and the challenges that are bringing queer clients to therapy.
Through an open and thought-provoking conversation, our panellists will explore:

Mental health in LGBTIQA+ communities: Understanding the current challenges, emerging trends and evolving support needs.
Queerness and neurodivergence: Exploring the intersection of LGBTIQA+ identities and neurodivergence, and the importance of inclusive, affirming care.
Loneliness and social connection: Examining the growing experience of isolation and the role of community, belonging and meaningful relationships.
Navigating today’s political and social climate: Understanding how increasing hostility, discrimination and uncertainty can affect mental health and wellbeing.
Supporting queer clients: Sharing different therapeutic approaches, lived experiences and strategies for providing culturally responsive and affirming support.

This conversation will offer valuable perspectives on the realities facing LGBTQIA+ people today, while encouraging greater understanding, collaboration and connection between mental health professionals, community organisations and the wider community.
