Vera: 1986
Based loosely on a true story, a young writer who grew up in an abusive orphanage tries to make a life for himself with the help of his adoptive father. To do so, however, means confronting the trauma and societal expectations that still plague his life, in this first feature film to have a trans man as its protagonist.
