Piano Bar at La Poubelle with Maya Azucena & Rick Leonard

All-request piano-bar spontaneity meets the soulful voice of Maya Azucena at La Poubelle, the intimate speakeasy-style cabaret tucked into Miami Beach’s Normandy Isles. Presented Thursday, November 5 and Thursday, November 19, the evening pairs Azucena with pianist Rick Leonard for a request-driven set shaped in real time by songs submitted by the audience.
A Brooklyn-born singer and recording artist with a four-octave range, Azucena has performed in more than 40 countries and collaborated with artists including Stephen Marley, Vernon Reid, Marcus Miller and DJ Spinna. Her work moves across soul, R&B, jazz and other styles, making the open-format piano bar a natural setting for a wide-ranging repertoire.
La Poubelle opened in 2024 as a 50-seat cabaret and has since developed a regular lineup of piano-bar nights, original shows and other live performances in a red-velvet, supper-club setting. Food from Silverlake Bistro and cocktails are available before and during the show, with a $25 food and beverage minimum per person in addition to admission. The event is for ages 21 and older.
