This time we will show you the film "Carol" (USA, 2015 – 118 minutes; German version with German subtitles).
What is the film about?
In 1950s New York, Carol (Cate Blanchett) is in an unfulfilling marriage with her wealthy husband Harge (Kyle Chandler). She meets the young Therese (Rooney Mara), who works in a department store and dreams of a better life. On a trip together, a very special bond develops between them – and finally, true love. However, Harge does not want to accept his wife's new happiness and begins to gather crucial evidence for the ongoing divorce proceedings. Carol soon has to fight for custody of her beloved daughter. Her husband tries to take her away by any means necessary.
CAROL is an adaptation of Patricia Highsmith's successful novel, first published in 1952 under the title "The Price of Salt".
