Get creative at Villa Vida Café with a lino printing workshop in Vienna led by illustrator Ivo Lederer.

On Friday, 9 October 2026, join us from 16:00 to 19:00 for an afternoon of printing, creativity and queer community. You can experiment with lino printing on paper for free or make your own cotton book pouch featuring illustrations from Vienna Vibes.

No previous lino printing experience is required. Therefore, whether you are completely new to printing or already enjoy printmaking, you are welcome to take part.

Create Your Own Vienna Vibes Book Pouch

During the workshop, you can create a personal cotton book pouch using lino-print illustrations from Vienna Vibes.

Vienna Vibes is a project by Queer Writers Circle Vienna, bringing together queer writing and illustration from Vienna. Ivo Lederer illustrated the publication and will lead this hands-on printing session.

As a result, you can take home something both practical and personal: a book pouch printed by you.

Try Lino Printing for Free

Not sure whether you want to make a book pouch? You can also simply try lino printing on paper.

Printing on paper is free, with donations welcome. This makes the workshop an easy way to experiment with the technique without committing to a larger project.

Meanwhile, cotton book pouches will be available for €8–€10 for one or two pouches.

A Relaxed Creative Workshop at Villa Vida

The lino printing workshop Vienna is designed as an informal creative session rather than a formal art class. Therefore, you do not need previous printmaking or artistic experience to participate.

You can come along, explore the available designs and create something at your own pace. Moreover, the workshop offers an opportunity to spend time with other people in a relaxed, queer-centred community space.

You do not need to consider yourself an artist to take part. Curiosity is enough.

Language

Villa Vida Café is an international and multilingual community space. The workshop can be navigated in English or German.

If you need information or instructions in another language, we will help where possible.

The workshop involves hands-on printing and working with art materials. If you have specific access requirements or would like to know more about the physical setup of the workshop before attending, please contact Villa Vida in advance.
