Play Bar

Play Bar (Le Play) is a welcoming gay bar on rue Breteuil in the 6th, an easy walk uphill from the Vieux-Port. It fills the everyday-drinks niche in the Marseille scene: a relaxed neighbourhood room for an apéro, happy-hour pricing and a chatty regular crowd before the later clubs get going. The programme mixes quieter early evenings with occasional theme and DJ nights at the weekend. Open Wednesday to Sunday from the early evening (later start in August), it works well as a first stop on a night that might continue toward Cours Julien.
