Antenatal Class for Queers & Friends

Pregnant and tired of explaining yourself?

With an identity-sensitive antenatal class for everyone, we want to empower expectant families, especially queer, trans, inter, and non-binary individuals, during a sensitive time!

This course is intended to prepare you well for the birth of your child. With information, breathing, body exercises, but also exchange and your input, we want to learn, feel, and strengthen anticipation together. We want to create a pleasant space for everyone without having to explain themselves, for community building and exchange.
As course instructors, we want to critically question the effectiveness of heteronormative structures surrounding family formation by, for example, being sensitive in language and imagery and considering parent constellations such as single parenthood, multi-parenthood, or co-parenting outside of a romantic relationship.
We want to be sensitive to different forms of discrimination that people may be affected by and integrate this into our work, for example with language and visual material. We welcome BIPoC individuals and want to work in a racism-sensitive and critical manner.

Sarah Dionisius and Ines-Paul Baumann from rubicon will provide an hour of contextual information and space for exchange on Sunday.

The course begins on Saturday and Sunday at 9:00 AM and will end around 5:00 PM, possibly.
