Queer Classism Empowerment Weekend

The weekend is aimed at people who are affected by classism due to their social background.

If you sometimes feel strange when friends or colleagues talk about their childhood – about ski holidays, music lessons, or seemingly effortlessly speaking multiple languages and finding it easy to formulate, write, or present. At least, it sometimes seems that way. Perhaps you feel like you have to try harder, aren't good enough, or have to hide how you grew up.

You might worry about money today, even if there is enough now. For many people who have had these experiences, an imposter syndrome develops. Such moments, when one's own background suddenly becomes noticeable, keep reappearing – in friendships, in chosen family, in political groups, or also in relationships and can cause tension, shame, and sadness. Often, however, one does not talk about it, but rather moves on because it feels somehow uncomfortable to show oneself with it.
