This is a lovely old rural hotel outside Ano Vouves. It is a lovingly restored farmhouse-to-hotel with 10 rooms situated amid olive, apricot, fig and citrus groves. There is a panoramic view of the mountains and sea from many parts of the hotel. Our room was large with extra seating and a charming outdoor patio. There is a huge unheated pool that we did not use. The staff are pleasant and very helpful. The food is regional Cretan cuisine and is delicious. The hotel is well situated for driving around Western Crete. You absolutely need a car. This place is a true gem.

We had a very beautiful week (almost). The place is quiet, in the middle of nature, cooler than the coast, very clean, with beautiful corners to relax. We ate well, slept well, rested. I'm not a pool person but I can say that I enjoyed it. The afternoons after the tour were very relaxing.

We had a wonderful and relaxing stay at the Elia Hotel. It's a converted old house with some additions to the rooms, preserving the charm of the old architecture. Since the windows here are traditionally small, we never needed the air conditioning, despite the high outside temperatures, which we found very beneficial. At night, simply opening the windows was enough. We also really enjoyed the breakfast buffet, as well as the beautiful garden and the location. Of course, you need a car, but that's to be expected when choosing a hotel away from the hustle and bustle of the beach hotels. The pool is spacious, and the roof terrace, where you can have breakfast and, if you wish, dinner, offers a beautiful view of the coastal region on one side and the mountains to the west on the other. And let's not forget the warmth of the hostess, Kyria Evtichia (Efi). A great hotel for Crete lovers, but also for families with small or older children, who can safely run around here or play with the cats. Highly recommended!

An authentic establishment in a peaceful setting amidst an olive grove. Discreet, attentive staff who offer helpful advice when needed. Varied breakfast with quality products. Superb swimming pool and an ideal location for exploring the west coast.
