Fico d'India poetto

Overpriced restaurant with disappointing food and poor service. They claim that everyone is welcome, but as a heterosexual couple speaking English, we genuinely felt unwelcome from the moment we arrived. The attitude of the staff made it clear that we weren’t wanted there. If you’re at the beach and considering stopping by for a cocktail or a meal, I’d strongly recommend going somewhere else. There are much better places nearby with friendlier service and better value.

I'm going to tell you about my negative experience at Fico d'India. We arrived at the beach restaurant, sat down, and noticed a shirtless man at the next table. I asked the waitress if I could take off my t-shirt. She said yes. Three minutes later, another waitress arrived and asked me to put my t-shirt back on… what am I supposed to think? Then we ordered two hamburgers with French fries, and we were served two plates of fries (frozen). Thinking the burgers would come next, we didn't think much of it. Twenty minutes later, still no burgers. I asked the waitress if she had understood our order correctly… the verdict was no. She went to see her manager, who came back and explained that it wasn't possible to serve us just the burgers without the fries… after much discussion, she finally agreed to serve us the burgers separately. Ten minutes later she arrived with two hamburger patties… seeing my surprise, she explained that in Italy burgers are like that… in France and everywhere else, burgers come with bread and toppings… I'll let you admire the picture of the burger… anyway, that was my one and only experience in this restaurant designed for tourists. I'm giving two stars for the waitress, who was otherwise friendly, but for the rest, and especially the manager, it's zero for her lack of empathy and negative attitude.

Food and service more than excellent

I walked past it on my way to Poeto beach. All I can say is that it had a great atmosphere and was packed. I would have liked to go in and have a drink.

Perfect lunch spot right by the beach! Lovely views and the music was good. The menu had a lot of options and the fish was really fresh! Would come again.

I'd like to give a well-deserved 5 stars to the staff and owner of Fico D'india for listening to me and welcoming me with extreme courtesy, friendliness, competence, willingness to talk, and a collaborative spirit.
