About the event

DREAMING TARTINI
Music and memories of the violinist who challenged the Devil
What if for one evening we could enter Giuseppe Tartini's dreams?
On Tuesday, September 8th, at 7:30 PM, in the Church of San Francesco in Piran, we invite you to experience a concert that aims to be much more than a concert: an intimate journey into Tartini's world, between music, words, memory, and dreams.
The music of the Scaramuccia Ensemble will be accompanied by short readings from Tartini's letters, reflections, and poetic thoughts, as well as testimonies from his contemporaries. A journey that will traverse some of the most evocative moments of his life: from the Little Sonatas, perhaps linked to his childhood musical memories in Piran, to the sonatas composed in Venice, perhaps performed by his students Anna Maria, Chiara, or Maddalena.
But there is something that will make this journey even more special.
We will hear Tartini through the sound of historical instruments, restored to the sonorities of his time, also through the use of gut strings, in the hands of musicians who are both performers and authoritative researchers of his work. The interpretation will follow the ornaments and performance practices that the "Maestro delle Nazioni" himself defended and taught, in a dialogue between research and interpretative sensitivity aimed at restoring his music that freedom, intensity, and authenticity that make it so surprisingly alive even today.
It will be like opening a door to the 18th century.
