Happy Hype — 360.ch

A good dose of queer exuberance, a collective trance, and a dancefloor eager to ignite: the Geneva-based company Ouinch Ouinch lands at the opening weekend of Concorde Espace Culture with Happy Hype. In a "medieval-fashion" universe that telescopes traditional dances and club cultures, the collective gradually draws the audience into its circle. At the heart of the performance: the Hype Call, a practice from Krump culture in which the person entering the circle draws on the encouragement of those around them to push their energy further.
There's no question of imitating Krump: Ouinch Ouinch uses this principle to seek its own states of trance and create a collective dance that is as jubilant as it is inclusive. Driven by the afro and hip-hop sounds of Mulah, the performers will be joined at Concorde by about fifty accomplices. And if you feel like it, that's good, the circle is open!
After the performance, Mulah stays at the turntables to extend the party until 11 PM. Free admission – full program for the opening weekend (September 25-27): concorde.
