Workshop "Shibari Advanced Course 201: Karada – Body Harness Basics
About the event
Shibari, also known as Kinbaku, is a Japanese word for ties or bindings and refers to an artistic form of bondage using various ropes. The basics of Japanese rope tying are quickly learned – and with a little practice, everyone quickly finds their own way to artfully tie up their partner (or themselves). The (previous) workshops Bondage Basics – Shibari 101 and 102 cover the fundamentals. This workshop builds on that: we will dedicate an evening to techniques for tying body harnesses, including Hishi (diamond) harness or Kikkou (turtle shell) harness, or simply called rope dress. Perhaps you've seen the Rope Bunny at Juicy – that's exactly what this is about: In principle, the workshop is open to riggers of all levels. We recommend that participants have attended one of the previous workshops or have acquired basic knowledge otherwise. Solo participants are just as welcome as couples and all other constellations. All Karada variants shown can be practiced solo with a little skill. However, partners are definitely recommended for initial attempts – but they can also be found on site. The workshop concludes with a preview of the upcoming workshop 202 Takate Kote. We will provide ropes for practice during the workshop. You are also welcome to bring your own ropes or buy new ones on site.
