Niño De Elche + Nuèit

The great Niño is back in Rennes! Those who were at his concert at Les Trans Musicales 2016 can testify: his singing is the expression of a deep soul, which comes from his heart and speaks directly to ours, provoking unspeakable emotions… 10 years and 8 albums later, Niño De Elche is more than ever a figure of the iconoclastic nuevo flamenco movement (“new flamenco”) that has been shaking up Spain for several years, drawing on its musical traditions with a certain taste for subversion, in order to create new, singular, and unclassifiable music. Almost a year after the release of his album in duo with Raül Refree, the artist is now presenting his latest solo album, Cante a lo Gitano, live, which brings together his interpretations of part of the repertoire of the legendary gypsy cantaor Manuel Torre. For the occasion, Niño De Elche will be accompanied by the great Andalusian guitarist Emilio Caracafé.

Based in Brittany, Nuèit adapts traditional Occitan songs to abrasive industrial music soundscapes. For over ten years, she has sung and played this repertoire, partly with the group Säkkriñ, and partly with her electro-acoustic solo project xəbərdarlıq. Under the alias Nuèit, she fuses her organic Occitan roots with the sounds of the industrial North.
