Recife Pride — Parada da Diversidade de Pernambuco 2026
About This Event
Recife throws one of the biggest Prides in Brazil's Northeast — the Parada da Diversidade, a huge, free, joyful street event in a city with a deep LGBTQ+ culture. The state-level Parada da Diversidade de Pernambuco is the headline event, traditionally held on a September Sunday in the Boa Viagem beach district (recent editions have centred on the Parque Dona Lindu "Arena da Diversidade"); a separate municipal parada runs later in the month in the city's north.
Like Brazilian Prides everywhere, it is part protest, part enormous party — sound trucks, music, drag and huge crowds filling the street, free and open to all.
The organisers announce the exact 2026 date and format closer to the time, so confirm before you travel.
Practical notes: Recife is hot and humid year-round; September is warm with some rain. Boa Viagem is the beach-hotel district and an easy base. The event is free and street-based — bring water, sun cover and comfortable shoes.
